I've been trying a couple times a week to average above 50 mpg on my commute. I proved with this that it can be easily done if my commute was all highway and a few red lights. My problem area has been the bulk of my drive is very hilly with many red lights. So far my best average for my entire commute is 47.4 mpg

Year? I gotta get rid of this P/U and get a car for everyday transport. I don’t really need it for everyday use and the 11 MPG is no good. (The Subaru is Janet’s DD so that is out).

2015. I normally get closer to 40 but i was averaging between 55-60 mph instead of 65-70. Traffic was a factor.

When I set my cruise to 65 I usually get 40-42 for my commute. It’s pretty amazing for a gas engine but it’s totally made me rethink mileage. When I see something that gets “good” mileage and it gets around 30 combined I just think it's no good.

Yeah seriously, the Skyactiv is the beginning of the end for (small)diesels in America.

And I wish I could set cruise control for my commute, but stupid DC traffic

I can sometimes for the whole thing. I usually leave around 9 and most of my commute is against traffic. I also get to leave my house around 9 most mornings so the bulk of traffic is usually gone
